David Stout

DYNAMIC LANGUAGE CENTRE DIRECTOR

David is thrilled to be a part of students' journey at Dynamic Kids.  He believes that every student is unique, and teachers have a tremendous opportunity to impact students' lives through a combination of innovative, interactive teaching methods and individualized attention and care for each student.

Originally from the United States, he enjoys empowering students and adults and enabling them to grow through new experiences.  Outside of teaching, David enjoys being in nature and hiking on Penang's beautiful trails, going to the gym, sports, enjoying tasty food, and spending time with family and friends.

Jen Pilapil

After eight years teaching at an international school in KL, Jen is excited to teach at Dynamic Kids.  Jen graduated with a degree in General Education, and she loves working with young students and believes learning should be fun and engaging.  She utilizes innovative teaching methods to keep students motivated and interested.  Jen appreciates spending quality time with family and friends, and is passionate about traveling and discovering the diverse cultures and traditions of the world.  She enjoys exploring new places, trying new foods, and meeting people.  Her adventurous spirit allows her to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world around her.

Dustin Wills

Dustin is from the United States, and he has a Master of Communications degree from the college of Southeastern, a CELTA degree, and a TKT certification in classroom management.  He has taught in the U.S., Indonesia, and now Malaysia.

Dustin is super excited to live in Penang because it has some of the best food in the world.  Besides food and teaching, he also enjoys movies and playing sports.

Jenny Waller

Jenny is from the United States, where she graduated and was certified in TESOL.  She taught in an English Centre for seven years, and she previously taught in Asia.  Jenny loves getting to know her students and is thrilled to be starting her second year of teaching at Dynamic Kids.  Jenny also likes to travel, make new friends, and learn about different cultures.  In her free time, Jenny likes to explore Penang, hike, and try new foods.  Jenny is excited to help students grow in English while learning through fun games and activities.

Melinda baker

With a wealth of valuable experience, Melinda is excited to be teaching at Dynamic Kids!  Before coming to Penang, she taught both Special Education and English students for over 25 years.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Speech/Theatre/Dance as well as a Post Baccalaureate degree, and Certificates for Teacher of the Handicapped and Teacher of English from Rowan University Glassboro, New Jersey.  Melinda received her TEFL certification from Gateway House/Love TEFL.  She is thrilled to be teaching in the Pearl of the Orient!

James Lapkin

Coming from New York City, James has been teaching English in Southeast Asia since 2010.  He arrived in Penang in 2022 and has been enjoying his time on the island.  Prior to becoming a teacher, James had a varied career path while working in America, from music to business.  He is very passionate about coffee, documentary films, ice hockey, and beaches.

Kevin Cleveland

Kevin Cleveland is an educator from sunny Southern California.  Formerly a history teacher with a Master’s degree in Education, Kevin is now teaching English on the wonderful island of Penang.  He is passionate about teaching and is looking forward to an exciting adventure in his first year at Dynamic Language Centre with all his new students. Kevin enjoys reading, gaming, basketball, and chess. He likes cooking occasionally but loves eating even more.

Liz Street

Growing up between different cultures and countries, Liz was exposed to multiple languages from an early age in her multiethnic family.  She believes language is essential not only for education, but also our bonds.  After graduating from the University of South Wales with a degree in Creative and Professional Writing, Liz did a lot of traveling as a scuba diving instructor for 7 years.  She gained her TEFL certification in 2019 and taught English in Borneo.  Liz is thrilled to get to know students at Dynamic Kids and inspire them to be their best selves.  When not teaching, Liz creates digital art and illustration.  She loves animals, swimming in the sea, and baking pastries.

Angela Carillo

With over fifteen years of experience teaching various ages and levels, Angela brings a wealth of experience to Dynamic Kids.  For three years she taught in China, strengthening the foundation of her wisdom as she discovered new and meaningful teaching techniques.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a CELTA certificate from ILA in Vietnam.  In teaching, she enjoys getting to pass on her love of the language and the numerous cultural treasures that can be found throughout the English-speaking world.  Angela delights in meeting different people and finds that, in most lessons, she learns something herself, whether through her own teaching or her students’ comments or expressions.
